ROY — A small plane crashed into the yard of a residential home in Roy Wednesday afternoon, injuring two people.

The two people injured were in the airplane. Both were conscious when emergency responders arrived, but they had head injuries and needed medical attention, said Roy Police Sgt. Josh Taylor.

The plane crashed on a property along 2350 West about 4500 South in Roy, just northwest of Roy High School, about 3:55 p.m.

Photos of the yard the plane landed in show scattered branches and a plane with significant damage to its front end. Security footage from the home shows the plane sliding into the yard and coming to a stop.

Neighbors said they saw a man and a woman get out of the plane. Police said both were rushed to the hospital but not in serious condition.

The plane was apparently slowed down by trees,

Anthony Baugh, a resident of the house where the plane ultimately came to a stop, said he was not home but saw a video notification from his security camera and received a call from his wife.

Baugh said his four children often play in the front yard, and he feels blessed none of his family was injured.

"A lot of people were blessed today," he said.
