SALT LAKE CITY — A 51-year-old man living in West Jordan was sentenced to seven years in prison on Feb. 12. Investigators say over the span of a week, he sent over 1,000 videos of children being sexually abused to an undercover law enforcement officer, according to court documents.

Randall Walker Holland was charged in federal court in June 2024 with one count of coercion and enticement, one count of possession of child pornography, and one count of distribution of child pornography. He pleaded guilty in October 2024 to distribution of child pornography; the other two charges were dropped in exchange for his guilty plea.

The 51-year-old believed he had been talking to a person who was sexually abusing a 12-year-old when he was actually texting and communicating on social media with an undercover officer.

From May 2 to May 9, 2024, Holland admitted to sending over 1,000 videos to the officer and planned to meet up with the individual to abuse the 12-year-old himself, court documents say. When the man got to the undisclosed meeting location, he was arrested.

Holland was sentenced last week to prison and a lifetime of supervised release. He did not make a statement on the record, and U.S. District Judge Dale Kimball recommended Holland be placed at a low-security federal corrections facility in Seagoville, Texas, to allow family visitation and "to facilitate sex offender treatment, which the court also strongly recommends," according to the judgment.
