EAGLE MOUNTAIN — A man died after crashing his vehicle into two homes Monday.
Around 2 p.m., an "elderly male" was driving a pickup truck south on Pony Express Parkway when he hit and damaged two homes on Bald Eagle Way, Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Ray Ormond said.
It appears the man went off the road to the right and slammed into the back corner of a home, before continuing through the backyard and crashing into a second home, police said.
The driver died at the scene and his identity has not been released. Police said the impact alone was not enough to kill the driver, but they believe a medical episode may have contributed to the crash.
No other injuries due to the crash have been reported. Ormond said he is "very grateful" no one else was hurt or involved in the crash as the truck crossed a frequently used pedestrian walkway.
Neighbors told KSL-TV this is the fifth time in six years that a car has left the road and crashed in the area.
