CEDAR CITY — A fire destroyed a three-story building in Cedar City Monday morning.

At about 9:20 a.m., emergency crews responded to a fire at a commercial manufacturing plant located at 821 E. 11000 North. The Cedar City Fire Department said the building is owned by Nurico LLC, which, according to the company's website, develops products for health, weight loss and longevity.

When firefighters arrived, the three-story building was fully engulfed in flames, the Iron County Sheriff's Office said.

Firefighters contained the blaze by 2 p.m. and prevented it from spreading to nearby structures. No people were inside the building, and no injuries have been reported from the fire.

The Iron County Sheriff's Office said employees reported the fire started on the northwest side of the building after they heard a loud popping sound and flames became visible. The cause is under investigation by the state fire marshal.
