LONDON — Red Bull is well-known as a staple in extreme sports, sponsoring athletes who take their respective sports to the next level of intensity and risk.
The company's motto is, in fact, "Red Bull gives you wings."
That motto was taken quite literally by skydivers Marco Fürst and Marco Waltenspiel, who recently became the first people to fly wingsuits through London's iconic Tower Bridge. If you have a fear of heights, you may want to sit down before watching this incredible video.
The skydivers only had one chance to get this death-defying stunt right, and the margin for error was virtually nonexistent, with only a small gap in the bridge for the athletes to fly through.
Once the helicopter carrying the skydivers reached 3,000 feet, it was time to jump.
In the air, the two wingsuiters reached a top speed of 152 mph on their dive over the River Thames and through the gap in the Tower Bridge, before performing a complex aerial maneuver known as a flare — to fly upward and safely open their parachutes.
This incredible stunt marked the first time someone had flown a wingsuit through the Tower Bridge, adding to Red Bull's long list of extreme sports accomplishments.
