ERDA, Tooele County — Cynthia Mays, 69, of Grantsville, was killed after two vehicles collided at an intersection in Erda Thursday, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety.

Just before 7 a.m., Mays was waiting at a stop sign on Parachute Lane in a Ford F-150, preparing to turn left onto southbound state Route 179. A 1999 Dodge Caravan was traveling north on state Route 179 approaching the intersection when the Ford truck turned left in front of the Dodge, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

The Dodge collided with the driver's side of the truck. The Dodge driver suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Mays was taken to the hospital but died after arriving, police said.
