ST. GEORGE — The St. George Regional Airport had a "landmark year" in 2024 as it experienced record growth in travelers passing through the airport.
City officials announced that a total of 346,349 passengers traveled through the airport's commercial terminal, while 70,952 flights — private and commercial — took off or landed, marking the highest use numbers since the airport's opening, according to a recent press release. This broke the previous travel record set at the end of 2021 of 325,831 fliers.
October also proved to be the airport's biggest month ever with 39,524 people, which eclipses the previous record by nearly 4,500. The numbers for November (33,801) and December (32,612) also bested previous SGU records for those months.
"We're an ultra-healthy airport," Dustin Warren, airport director, said. "Our numbers about about 50/50 on people that want to come here, and people leaving, which is awesome for the community because we're no dependent on departing traffic. We have a lot to offer people coming in who come to take in what southern Utah has to offer."
