CEDAR CITY — Tributes and condolences have been pouring in for longtime Cedar City resident Dale J. Evans, who died last week at age 88 in front of the Evans Hairstyling College that he founded.

Cedar City Mayor Garth O. Green described Evans "a class guy" whose life exemplified hard work and devotion to his family and his faith.

Noting that Evans loved to ride his motorcycle and travel, Green called him a "dreamer, explorer and all-around friend to everyone."

Green also remarked on the sudden, unexpected manner that Evans died, in an auto-pedestrian collision in the parking lot.
