BRIAN HEAD — A 7-year-old boy was transported to the hospital after being injured in a collision with another skier at Brian Head on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident happened shortly after noon near the top of Paradise Run on the Navajo Peak section of the resort, deputy Jared Burton of Brian Head Marshal's Office told Cedar City News on Monday.

Burton said it appeared the boy skied into the path of a man behind him, causing them to collide.

Emergency personnel from Brian Head Marshal's Office, Brian Head Ski Patrol and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the incident, as did Intermountain Life Flight.

After receiving medical care at the scene, the child was transported via Life Flight helicopter to St. George Regional Hospital for further treatment, Burton said.
