SALT LAKE CITY — Two men who police say went on a two-and-a-half-hour vandalism spree throughout Salt Lake City, using a CO2 air-powered gun to shoot out windows, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage, are now facing numerous criminal charges.
Frederick Lynne Moore, 20, and Jordan Paige Cammack, 22, both of Taylorsville, were each charged Friday in Utah's 3rd District Court with 30 counts of causing property damage, five second-degree felonies, seven third-degree felonies, six class A misdemeanors and 12 class B misdemeanors.
On Nov. 16, 2023, "Numerous vehicle, residence and business windows suffered damage consistent with BB style projectiles fired from semiautomatic CO2 air-powered firearms," according to charging documents.
Between 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., damage was reported at "27 locations around the north portion of Salt Lake City," the charges state.
The Salt Lake City Marriott City Center, 220 S. State Street, reported more than $14,000 in damage, as did the Edison House, 335 S. 200 West, according to court documents. The Avenues Pet Clinic, 350 E. 100 South, reported nearly $6,500 in damage, while a separate private residence reported more than $5,600 worth of damage. Other places reporting damage included a Porsche dealership, a bank and the Salt Palace Convention Center.
The total damage was more than $72,000, charging documents state.
Using surveillance video, police identified a vehicle and two men possibly responsible. When detectives went to their residence, they found the vehicle and "10 expended CO2 cartridges were located around the front passenger seat and front passenger door," the charges state.
