As a state that houses many of the country's preeminent riding destinations, it's no secret that Utah has a passionate off-road community. Several residents work to find and develop machines that can conquer the toughest trails, and many are often early adopters of the best the industry has to offer.
Three years ago, Ford got the attention of that community by restarting production for one of their most iconic vehicles — the Bronco. Since then, the modern Bronco has become one of the most beloved SUVs in Utah and on Sept. 7, Young Ford Ogden brought together the state's most passionate enthusiasts for a celebration they called Bronco Bash.
"Hosting this event has been a highlight of the year for our dealership," said Jake Talbot, general manager of Young Ford Ogden. "It's a machine that both our staff and customers have loved, and it was great to engage with fans of the vehicle outside of the showroom."
Featuring food, giveaways and swag, the event brought in hundreds of attendees. Those there had the opportunity to participate in contests, talk with other enthusiasts and browse through Broncos at the dealership.
In addition to celebrating the Bronco, the dealership also displayed vehicles from two of the premier companies they recently signed agreements with: Shelby American and Black Widow.
"These are cars and trucks that kids hang up posters of in their bedroom," Talbot said. "We're incredibly proud to carry products from companies that elevate the driving experience."
Both companies are known for taking models that were originally designed by Ford and turning them into performance vehicles. Shelby has their own signature cars as well, such as the Cobra, the GT 350 and the GT 500.
Currently celebrating their 100 year anniversary, the Young Automotive Group recently became northern Utah's sole vendor for Shelby American and Black Widow. The company plans to carry the vehicles not only at their Ogden location, but their Ford dealerships in Morgan and Brigham City as well.
Young Ford Ogden first joined the Young Automotive Group in 2020. One of the business' largest locations, the dealership has participated in other off-road events in the past, such as the 2023 Wasatch Back Overlanding Expo. They've also hosted their annual first responder of the year initiative for five years, which provides a local police officer or firefighter with a free truck for a year.
"Like the Young Automotive Group as a whole, we're always striving to be more than a business that just sells vehicles," Talbot said. "We always want to find ways to engage with our community and area. Being a part of a company that puts people first has been a priority of mine throughout my career, and I'm so grateful to be with one that's done that for a century now."
