NORTH SALT LAKE — A 10-year-old girl was struck by a car as she was walking to school Tuesday morning.

The girl was hit by a car around 8:30 a.m. while crossing Center Street at 350 East, North Salt Lake Deputy Police Chief Mitch Gwilliam said. The girl was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Gwilliam said the driver stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The girl was in a crosswalk when crossing the street.
