SALT LAKE CITY — A motorcyclist is critically injured after crashing in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

A 25-year-old man was driving a motorcycle on state Route 190 Tuesday evening when he didn't take the turn correctly and crashed, the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office said. The man is in critical condition.

Further details on the crash and the man's injuries were not available.

The road was temporarily closed in both directions while Unified fire officials respond to the accident, the Utah Department of Transportation said. A Unified Fire spokesman said there was a large presence of first responders at the scene for a "high-angle rescue."
