SALT LAKE CITY — A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in Salt Lake City.

Just before 1:30 a.m. Monday, Salt Lake police officers out on an unrelated call heard multiple gunshots and a car speeding away in the area of 200 North and 1300 West. Officers collected undisclosed evidence from the scene and talked to witnesses, but no arrests were made, according to the department.

Police say no injuries or damage was reported.

The Salt Lake City Gang Unit took over the investigation and on Wednesday located the vehicle believed to have been involved in the shots fired case and arrested a 17-year-old boy in Sandy. A search warrant was served on the vehicle and a handgun and rifle were seized, the department said.

The teen was taken to the Salt Lake Valley Detention Center for investigation of undisclosed charges.

No other details were released.
