SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A state employment report released Tuesday says Utah lost about 11,500 jobs in the past year as the state recorded its second straight month of job losses.
The Department of Workforce Services says the state's work force contracted by nearly 1 percent this November, compared with the same month last year.
Meanwhile, the state's unemployment rate rose to 3.7 percent in November, up from 2.8 percent last year.
State economists forecast that Utah will lose up to 19,000 jobs in 2009 and reach an unemployment rate of up to 5.5 percent.
