SALT LAKE CITY — Falltime has come to Utah and with it comes cooler temperatures, crisp air, pumpkins, colorful leaves and Halloween.
Utah has many fall-themed events to bring the fall spirit into your home and make the most of these few months before wintertime.
Here are some events taking place throughout Utah during October:
Northern Utah
‘Fiddler on the Roof’ - Cache Valley Center for the Arts will be hosting the musical ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ on Oct. 12 - 17. Play starts at 7:30 p.m. with the Oct. 14 show at 1:30 p.m. Children five years and older are allowed. Tickets vary by price and can be purchased online.
Park City Harvest Fest - Free festival featuring live music, local food and drinks, family friendly activities, wagon rides and local crafts. The Harvest Fest is taking place Oct. 7 from 12 - 5 p.m. at 970 N. State Road 32 in Kamas.
Witchstock Festival - The Ogden Amphitheater, 2484 Washington Blvd, will be holding Ogden’s annual Witchstock Festival on Oct. 28. Activities begin at 4 p.m. with a Witches Tea and end at with dancing at 10 p.m. A zombie crawl and monster bash will be held with beer, wine and food. A ticket is needed for the Witches Tea. All other events are free to the public.
Salt Lake County
Utah Symphony performance - The Utah Symphony will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Schoenberg’s violin concerto and selections from Brahms’ ‘Hungarian Dances.’ The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 - 21 at Abravanel Hall, 123 W. South Temple in Salt Lake City. This performance will feature Moldovian-Austrian violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaya and conductor Thierry Fischer. Performance lasts around 2 hours. Children 8 years and older are welcome. Tickets can be purchased online and vary in price by seat.
Sips Under the Sea - The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, 12033 S. Lone Peak Pkwy in Draper, is hosting their annual Halloween celebration with ‘The Haunted Aquarium.’ This event is for adults 21 and older and will be held from 7 - 11 p.m. on Oct. 13. Specialty drinks, cocktails, beer and non-alcoholic drinks will be served alongside live, interactive entertainment. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for the most creative ones.
Snowbird’s Oktoberfest - Snowbird’s annual Oktoberfest will once again feature, entertainment, German food, 50 different kinds of beer, live music and family activities. Events are held every Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 15. Location of the event is 9385 S. Snowbird Center Dr. in Snowbird, Utah.
Utah County
Hee Haw Farms - Pleasant Grove’s Hee Haw Farms, 95 S. 2000 West, is holding a large number of fall-themed activities. Some of these include a giant pumpkin drop, regular and haunted corn maze, hayride, corn box and more. Ticket prices range from $3 - $6. Hours change day to day and can be viewed online.
Cornbelly’s - Thanksgiving is holding it’s annual Cornbelly’s event with it’s large, themed shaped maze. This year's maze is superhero-themed with Superman and other heroes shaped into the corn. Other mazes include a kiddie maze, spooky maze and a candy corn maze. Other attractions include ziplines, bungee bouncer, corn cob beach and other family fun activities. General admission ranges from $11.95 - $59.95. Address is 3003 N. Thanksgiving Way in Lehi.
Food truck roundup - Food trucks leagues will be happening throughout Utah County in Pleasant Grove, Alpine, Saratoga Springs, Provo and the SCERA center of arts. Vendors featuring many variations of food will be available for purchase. These start the first week of October and will carry on a few dates throughout the month. Food truck leagues are open entry.
Provo Interfaith Choir - An interfaith choir will practice music together every Sunday at 5 - 6:30 p.m. for a mid-winter performance. Practices are held at the Provo Community Congregational United Church of Christ, 175 N. University Ave in Provo
Vikings - Beyond the Legend - The opportunity to learn more and explore the age of Vikings is open now to the end of the year. Visitors will have the chance to view a full-sized replica of a Viking ship and get hands-on opportunities with Viking weapons and boats. Tickets can be purchased online or in person and range from $7.95 - $14.95. Children ages 2 and younger are free.
Southern Utah
Utah Shakespeare Festival - The Shakespeare Festival held at 200 W. College Ave. in Cedar City continues through this month. Some plays held in October are ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream,’ ‘The Tavern,’ ‘How to Fight Loneliness’ and more. Ticket prices vary by seating and can be purchased online.
Waffles & Witches - On Oct. 13, 20 and 21, community members can come enjoy breakfast and a breakfast show featuring witches full of magic, pranks, jokes and talent. Tickets cost $15 and will be held at Staheli Family Farm, 3400 S. Washington Fields Road in Washington, Utah.
Senior endless french toast - Even Stevens restaurant will be giving seniors an endless amount of french toast while holding trivia night. Free french toast will be served on Oct. 25, with trivia starting at 6 p.m. Address is 471 E. St. George Blvd in St. George.
Free mindfulness and meditation class - Unwind and relax at this meditation class at 6 - 7 p.m. every Wednesday in Oct. There’s also no need to stress about affording it, because it’s free. All level of experience with mindfulness and meditation is welcome. The class takes place at Grace Episcopal Church, 1072 E. 900 South in St. George.
Field of Screams - Staheli Family Farm, 3400 S. Washington Fields Rd. in Washington, Utah will hold their annual “Field of Screams” event; a haunted corn maze. A regular corn maze is also available and separate from the haunted one. The maze is open now until Halloween at 9 - 11 p.m. and tickets cost $13 - $23.
Spooky Trick - or - Treat Trail - This family-friendly event is geared for children to have a fun and not-so-spooky Halloween event. A “slightly haunted” shack will be an option for kids to walk through. Other than that, there will be candy, music, fun and no horrifying scenes or live characters. Prices are $7 - $13. This event is at Staheli Family Farm, 3400 S. Washington Fields Rd. in Washington, Utah and is held Oct. 5 - 9 from 7:30 - 9 p.m.
Eastern Utah
Bluff Arts Festival - This annual event celebrates autumn through outdoor adventures and food, music, art, pottery, hiking and more. Events happen at various times and locations throughout Bluff, Utah on Oct. 20 - 22. Events are free to the public.
