Outlook
A cold front early this morning brought a punch of snow to the Wasatch Front making for wet roads and some areas with snow covered roads. The cold core of our storm system should move in mid-morning/lunch hour and that could fire up more snow showers especially south and east of the Great Salt Lake. Snow showers are possible this afternoon, but models are now hinting at a possible lake effect band forming somewhere between the Salt Lake Valley and Tooele Valley this evening/night. Snow totals still remain on the order of tr-3" for the Wastach Front, 2-6" for the benches and Wasatch Back, 6-12" for the mountains, up to 16" in the Cottonwoods, 4-8" in the central and southern mountains, 1-3" in the west-central valleys/central valleys of Utah. - Matt Johnson, KSL Weather 1.8.26
