Outlook

A cold front is moving south into central Utah this evening and will bring around .20 - .40" of valley rainfall and 5-10" of mountain snowfall with it by the end of the day Friday. This boundary will stall out over central Utah Friday, lingering showers in that area throughout the day. Friday night, this boundary will lift back north and can produce a few showers for northern Utah as it does so. Scattered showers will develop throughout the first half of the day Saturday for the northern half of the state, then a cold front will begin to move into western Utah sometime in the afternoon. As this cold front moves in, heavy valley rain and mountain snow will begin in southwest Utah. Precipitation will fill in across the state through the rest of the day Saturday, then linger into Sunday. Precipitation totals over the weekend: .25 - .75" of rain for valleys and 10-20" of snowfall for the mountains. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 3.28.24
