Summary Operate or tend machines to prepare consumer products for storage or shipment. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): ??? Adjust machine components, tension, and pressure to specifications ??? Attach labels/lot numbers to finished product ??? Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment ??? Count and record finished and rejected packaged items ??? Inspect and remove defective products and packaging materials ??? Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups ??? Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products ??? Regulate machine flow, speed, and temperature ??? Stack, wrap, box, or bin finished product for transport ??? Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur; clear machine jams and report malfunctions ??? Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner
