Correction: Police incorrectly gave the name of Mark Busico initially. It has been correctly updated to Mike Busico.TOOELE COUNTY — Six schools were placed on lockdown for about an hour Tuesday afternoon while Grantsville police looked for a fugitive in the area, according to Tooele County School District officials.

Grantsville High School, Grantsville Junior High School, Grantsville Elementary, Willow Elementary and two preschools were put in a shelter-in-place from 2:40-3:20 p.m., officials said. The schools were temporarily locked down while police searched for a "known fugitive" in the area.

Grantsville Police Chief Kevin Turner said police got a call about a suspicious person at a house near a school, and when officers arrived on scene, they identified the man as a wanted fugitive named Mike Busico.

Busico began jumping fences to flee police, Turner said. He was carrying a black bag while he was fleeing police, and because he had been known to carry weapons, police warned the schools as a precaution, Turner said. He was located by officers on Park Street near 250 South and was arrested without incident.

Parents had to delay picking up their children until the lockdown was lifted by school officials around 3:20 p.m. when police confirmed the area was safe.
