OGDEN — Matthew Roberts accounted for four touchdowns to lead Beaver to a 33-0 win over South Summit and the Class 2A state title Saturday at Weber State's Stewart Stadium.

Roberts threw a pair of touchdown strikes to Brennan Hutchings in the first half, then added a 7-yard toss to Hutchings in the third quarter and a 1-yard TD plunge in the fourth to ice the 33-0 win over the two-time defending 2A champion Wildcats.

Dillon Smith added a 1-yard TD run for Beaver in the third quarter.

The Beavers won their 10th state title in school history, but first since 1990.

Juan Diego 28, Morgan 13

At Weber State, Alex Hoffman ran for two fourth-quarter touchdowns to help the Soaring Eagle pull away for the 3A state title.

Hoffman ran in from 8 yards out to give Juan Diego a 21-7 lead, but the Trojans rallied to make it a one-score game on Austin Francis' 34-yard sprint to the end zone.

But Hoffman plowed forward and iced the game with a 3-yard TD run that gave the Soaring Eagle the win.

Morgan pulled within 14-7 at halftime via Francis' first touchdown run, but it would get no closer.

Diamond Ranch 23, Kanab 20

At Southern Utah University, the Diamondbacks held off the Cowboys to win their first 1A state title with an undefeated season.
