WEST VALLEY CITY — Police arrested a woman after they say she went on an early morning rampage, stabbing her mother seven times, attacking a neighbor with the lid of a pot and going after police with copper pipe.

The Sunday incident began at 5:30 a.m. in the 3300 South block of Westcrest Road, where the woman, 30, stabbed her mother seven times, according to police. The injuries to the mother, 48, were not considered to be life threatening, officers said, and it was unknown what type of weapon was used in the attack.

The daughter then attempted to break into a neighboring trailer home and when a neighbor heard the commotion and confronted her, she hit him with the lid of a pan, said West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku. He suffered scratches in the encounter.

The melee continued when the woman then tried to break into another person's trailer, but that homeowner was able to keep her from getting inside, she said.

The woman then broke into a van and began tearing it apart. When officers arrived, she went after them with a 3-foot copper pipe, according to Vainuku. The woman was pepper sprayed and a Taser was ultimately deployed. She was taken to the hospital for examination and later booked into jail. Her mother was also hospitalized.

Police identified the daughter as Dianna Robles and say she was arrested for investigation of attempted murder, aggravated assault, attempted residential burglary, vehicle burglary, assault on a police officer and criminal mischief.
