SALT LAKE CITY — Each Tuesday we take a look back at the past week in news and events from across Utah, showcasing photos and videos submitted to KSL.com.

The two biggest stories Utahns captured this week are fires and floods. After a fairly quiet summer on the wildfire front, a few significant fires burned in Utah.

Monday night saw strong storm cells moving through Utah, which always elicits beautiful, weather-related user submissions. Sadly, the storms turned deadly with flooding in some parts of Utah.

Despite the tragic events, Utahns also submitted photos to showcase our great state and the beginning of fall in the higher elevations, wildlife and other nature shots.
