PUNNINGTON — As a married man, I can attest that I love to make my wife laugh. When we were dating, even engaged, my wife found me hilarious. I'd make a clever joke, and she'd laugh and tell her friends how witty and fun I was.

Then we got married. Once we said "I do," her brain clicked from finding me funny to finding me obnoxious. I throw out hilarious one-liners and observations and get an occasional laugh, but most often I get an exhausted eye roll. Maybe I'm the only one who has experienced this, but my guess is I am not.

With all that said, I'm breaking guy code to let those of you with husbands like me in on a secret. The more annoyed you become, the more determined we become to continue pressing that "annoy" button until it breaks.

If you don't believe me, watch this video.

This hero to all mankind is shopping at IKEA with his girlfriend. That right there is enough to make people lose their minds, or at least push a couple to the brink of splitting up. This guy, however, finds a way to pass the time and enjoy himself. He starts sharing spot-on puns — based on unusual names of IKEA products — with his girlfriend, Donna.

Watching how irritated (and amused) Donna gets is priceless, and watching how insistent the man is on continuing with the joke is inspiring. Much like my wife would be, Donna is annoyed but usually has a smile on her face.

Next time your man makes a terrible joke, which will no doubt be soon, indulge him a little, and try to make the eye roll less intense.
