SALT LAKE CITY — The Bhutanese community in Utah attended a seven-day cultural and religious program Shrimaad Bhagawat Gyan Mahayagya at the Sri Krishna Temple in Salt Lake City on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015. Organizers said the event is one way the Bhutanese community preserves its identity and passes on its values to the younger generation.

The event is typically held at least once a year within Hindu families in places such as India and Nepal, but this is the first time the event is being held in Utah, according to Bhutanese community board member Gyanu Dulal.
