MORGAN — A Morgan man was killed Monday night when his motorcycle crashed on I-84.
John D. Millar, 59, was riding on westbound I-84 when he lost control on a curve and crossed into the inside median about 6 p.m., Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said. Millar crashed into a cable barrier in the median and was killed on impact.
Police are investigating whether Millar may have come in contact with or been cut off by a semitrailer that had merged into the left lane where Millar was riding, according to UHP. Investigators believe excessive speed played a part in the crash.
Traffic on I-84 was briefly interrupted as investigators processed the scene, but the road was not closed, Royce said. The cause of the accident was unknown Monday, though investigators do not believe it was weather-related, he said.
Millar was wearing a full-face helmet and protective gear at the time of the crash. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
