SALT LAKE CITY — The El Paso Chihuahuas worked a 13-7 win over the Salt Lake Bees Sunday afternoon at Smith’s Ballpark.

Trailing 13-5 heading into the ninth inning, Salt Lake attempted a comeback with two runs in the bottom of the inning, but it was unable to make up the deficit. The Bees outhit the Chihuahuas 17 to 14, but the visiting team took advantage of seven walks to take the six-run victory.

2015 Pacific Coast League All-Star Jett Bandy, Josh Rutledge and Gary Brown all put up big offensive numbers for Salt Lake. Rutledge went four-for-five, while Brown and Bandy each were three-for-four at the plate. The three combined for four extra-base hits, three runs and claimed all six of the Bees' RBIs. Salt Lake starter Alex Sanabia (1-9) was chased after allowing 10 runs, nine earned, over three and one-third innings.

Steven Hensely gave up an additional three runs over two and two-thirds innings before Edgar Ibarra and Kurt Spomer combined for a scoreless three frames to close the game.

The Bees and Chihuahuas face off for two more games at Smith’s Ballpark before the Bees hit the road to face Las Vegas for five games.
