SCIPIO, Millard County — A wildfire that temporarily forced the closure of I-15 was winding down Sunday.

The lightning-caused, 184-acre Scipio Summit Fire was 60 percent contained as of 8 a.m. Sunday and was not expected to grow, according to a statement from the Central Utah Fire Interagency.

At one point Friday evening, the fire forced officials to close I-15 in both directions near Scipio for about 45 minutes.

As of Sunday, about 140 personnel remained on scene to mop up hot spots west of I-15, according to fire officials.

One power pole was damaged in the fire. There were no reports of injuries.
