ROOSEVELT — Police say they've tracked down the partially clothed man who was caught on camera entering a Roosevelt family's backyard in the middle of the night and releasing their dog from its kennel.

"The man in the dog cage has been caught and charged," Roosevelt police wrote Wednesday in a post on the department's Facebook page. "Thanks for everyone's interest and help."

Roosevelt Police Chief Rick later confirmed to KSL-TV that officers cited Timmy George Ross, 56, for trespassing and released him from police custody with a promise to appear in court at a later date.

At least three times in June, a man entered Brian and Lynzie Carter's backyard in the middle of the night and let their pit bull, Mya, out of her kennel. The man brought a can of refried beans with him on one occasion and was carrying chicken nuggets during another visit, according to Lynzie Carter.

Pictures and video captured by a camera the Carters put up in their yard shows a man dressed in a white T-shirt, baseball hat, athletic shoes and what appear to be women's tights. In several of the images the man is seen crawling over to Mya's kennel on his hands and knees with his buttocks exposed.

Ross allegedly told officers he entered the Carter's yard and opened Mya's kennel because he thought she "needed let out to run," Harrison said. Court records show Ross has prior misdemeanor convictions for DUI, theft, drug possession and weapons violations.

Lynzie Carter said she doesn't know Ross and is grateful police made contact with him.

"I feel better about the situation now," she said. "(The police) said if he comes back again, they'll take him straight to jail."
