SALT LAKE CITY — The Larry H. Miller 2015 Tour of Utah, seen as one of the premier cycling events in the United States, is set to field an impressive roster of internationally ranked teams.
Sixteen men’s teams will take on the internationally sanctioned event Aug. 3-9. The three UCI World Tour ranked teams include the No. 7 BMC Racing Team (USA), No. 14 Trek Factory Racing (USA) and No. 15 Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling (USA).
The event is not restricted to teams from the United States. Teams from Italy, Australia, Colombia and Africa (cyclists from four different African countries) will also be a part of the event. Eighteen women’s teams will compete in the two-day Women’s Edition: Criterium Classic Aug. 3-4. The women’s event will have 17 teams from the United States and the Itaú Shimano Ladies Power Team from Argentina.
“We have so many great teams at this year’s Tour of Utah and the Criterium Classic. With the World Championships for road cycling being held in Richmond, Virginia, just a month after Utah, we expect these teams to bring top contenders for race week. Spectators will be treated to compelling attacks and race action across northern Utah at all seven stages,” said Jenn Andrs, executive director of the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, a division of Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment, in a prepared statement.
The Tour of Utah covers 712 miles of racing and 51,442 feet of elevation. The event includes seven stages that will run through the following parts of Utah:
- Logan — Monday, Aug. 3
- Tremonton to Ogden — Tuesday, Aug. 4
- Antelope Island State Park to Bountiful — Wednesday, Aug. 5
- Soldier Hollow in Heber Valley — Thursday, Aug. 6
- Salt Lake City — Friday, Aug. 7
- Salt Lake City to Snowbird — Saturday, Aug. 8
- Park City — Sunday, Aug. 9 The Women’s Edition: Criterium Classic will run through the following cities: - Logan — Monday, Aug. 3
