OGDEN — Normandy is looking to honor World War 2 veterans who helped liberate or re-build Normandy. They created a special 70th-anniversary medal to say thank you. A Utah veteran from Ogden was one of many veterans who received the medal.
Joseph Stott was just 19-years-old when he landed on Omaha beach during World War Two. The 70th-anniversary medal he received from Normandy goes nicely with other mementos he gathered while he drove military brass in his jeep during the war.
Stott is on the list to go on an Honor Flight in the Fall with his son Martin. He says he's looking forward to visiting the World War Two Memorial. If you'd like to donate to help other Utah veterans fly on an Honor Flight, visit www.utahhonorflight.org.
