SALT LAKE CITY — The Pac-12 Networks announced Tuesday that Utah and Oregon State will be featured in the upcoming season of “The Drive: Pac-12 Football.”

The TV series is in its third year and documents teams as they go throughout the football season. Each episode is 30 minutes long and gives fans of the Pac-12 a behind-the-scenes view of various teams in the Pac-12. Last year, the series followed UCLA.

“We are honored to be selected as a featured team on ‘The Drive’ this season,” Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said in a statement. “It is great national exposure for our program and allows us to get our team in front of a lot of people and let them see what Utah football is all about.”

The Pac-12 Networks will follow both football programs from training camp in August through the end of the season.

“Authentic storytelling and inside access have been key elements in making ‘The Drive’ one of Pac-12 Networks’ most valuable franchises over the past two seasons,” Pac-12 Networks President Lydia Murphy-Stephans said in a statement. “This season, Oregon State and Utah have a unique story arc that made returning to a two-team format very appealing.”

Oregon State has several Utah ties, with three former Utah coaches now on staff in Corvallis. Oregon State is lead by former Utah defensive coordinator Gary Andersen, who accepted the head coaching position at Oregon State after head coaching stints at Wisconsin and Utah State. The program also infused another former Utah defensive coordinator in Kalani Sitake and former defensive line coach Ilaisa Tuiaki in December.

“Oregon State football is excited to participate in ‘The Drive,’” Andersen said in a statement. “It’s a tremendous opportunity for our student-athletes to be showcased and for fans to see the work they put in during the course of the season. It’s a unique time for Beaver football as a new coaching staff and players build a foundation for the program.”

Utah and Oregon State are set to meet up Oct. 31, in what is expected to be the annual Blackout game.
