SALT LAKE CITY — Whether its about vaccinations, potty training, breast feeding or being a stay-at-home mom, parents have a lot of opinions and they aren’t afraid to share them.

In a recent YouTube video put out by Extra Space Storage, a Utah dad urges parents to ignore 90 percent of the advice they hear. Of course, he then continues with his own sound advice and is followed by several other Utah parents spouting words of wisdom.

“Everything you’re doing is probably the best to somebody and the worst thing that you can possibly do to somebody else,” one Utah mom offers. “So just do what works for you and don’t get on the Internet, because you can Google anything and everybody has an opinion.”

Counting down from ten, the group of both young and seasoned parents suggest the top 10 pieces of advice they wished they would have known before becoming a parent.

From “get on a schedule” to “be prepared for the unexpected because it will happen” these parents discuss topics that may seem like a no-brainer, but are important to remember.

Although having kids can be challenging at times, these parents remind viewers that it’s all worth it.

“You’re going to look back and you’re going to say ‘I wish those times will come back,’ ” another mom says. “So keep them. Don’t give them all away.”

Even the kids chip in with a little advice of their own.

“Just relax, you’re gonna be great ... hopefully,” one little guy says.
