OGDEN — Part of Historic 25th Street will be closed Friday and Saturday while ABC Studios is in town filming the pilot episode of an upcoming TV series.

Traffic will be closed on the 100 block between Wall Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, but all businesses will be open, according to Ogden City Special Events and Arts Manager Christy McBride.

The TV series, “Boom,” follows the epic pilgrimage of Billy and Kelly, a young couple seeking to make their fortune in a North Dakota oil boom, according to ABC’s application provided by Ogden City.

“After a road accident leaves him and Kelly stranded on foot, broke and heavily in debt, he gets wind of a big deal, and moves fast to secure an impregnable position for himself, but in doing, he’s betting his life,” the description in the application said.

“Boom” is directed by Jonas Pate. Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Don Johnson (Miami Vice) and Scott Michael Foster (Greek) star in the series, according to IMDb.

Ogden residents were invited to park their pickup trucks on 25th street from 2 p.m. until 2 a.m. as part of filming. Residents were offered $50 to park their trucks on the street and $150 to stay with their trucks during filming, according to the city of Ogden Facebook page.

ABC will be filming intermittently Saturday morning around the corner of Wall Avenue and Historic 25th Street. The majority of filming will be at the Union Station, McBride said.

There will be plenty of parking available on the north side of Historic 25th Street and at the courthouse on the south side, McBride said. To learn more about parking restrictions, visit the city of Ogden Facebook page.

“We’re just really excited to support filming in our community,” McBride said. “We know what a great economic impact it means to us, even just this weekend and also bringing more people downtown and then hopefully getting another series.”

Historic 25th Street has previously been the location of TV series, including “Touched by an Angel” and “Everwood," McBride said.
