SALT LAKE CITY — Ten of the nation’s most prominent United States buildings are currently on display in the form of LEGOs at Fashion Place Mall.

The display is part of The LEGO Americana Roadshow, a tour that brings the large-scale LEGO monuments built by LEGO master builders to General Growth Properties locations across the United States, according to GGP Marketing Manager Heidi Peppers.

Mall visitors will have the opportunity to see the LEGO models of the Statue of Liberty, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the United States Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Liberty Bell, Old North Church, Independence Hall and the Washington Monument.

The models, which range from about 6 to 15 feet tall, will be on display throughout Fashion Place Mall through March 22. Each display comes with historical and educational information about the building and about LEGO. The mall is the only location in Utah to host the roadshow, Peppers said.

The model of the U.S. Capitol building biggest at 29.6 feet wide. On March 14 and 15, the mall will hold a “build and take home” activity, where families are welcome to come from noon to 4 p.m. to build miniature models of the U.S. Capitol building or a building of their own creation. The event is free and open to the public, Peppers said.

“We encourage everyone to come and see these great things,” Peppers said. “The wonderful thing about it being out here is there’s a lot of people who haven’t traveled back east to Pennsylvania or New York or Washington, D.C,. to physically see these monuments in person, so this is like a different version of it for people to experience that.”
