PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — American Gus Kenworthy won the halfpipe final in the U.S. Grand Prix on Saturday night, scoring 95.60 points on his second run.

"I am so stoked!" Kenworthy said. "Today was really good for me."

Kenworthy, the Olympic silver medalist from Telluride, Colorado, was third Friday in the slopestyle.

"I was hoping to have done a little better yesterday," Kenworthy said. "The run I ended up getting third with was like the dumbed-down version of my run, so I was really hungry coming into today. I've wanted to do a run with four doubles for a while. I just learned that dub 12 at the last Grand Prix. It felt good to add that in and do three doubles at the bottom."

France's Kevin Rolland was second at 93.00, followed by Olympic champion David Wise of Reno, Nevada, at 90.40.

"Today, right from the start was kind of a tough day for me," Wise said. "I was struggling all through practice. My last practice run I finally put something to my feet and I was like, 'OK, I think I can pull this off.' Unfortunately the weather really came in on our last run and I wasn't able to get enough speed to finish my run."

If Wise had enough speed, he would have tried a right dub 14.

"That just means it is still out there and it still hasn't been done by anyone else yet," Wise said. "I'm glad to be standing on the podium today, glad to have fought through and landed a run, and looking forward to the next competition."

Japan's Ayana Onozuka took the women's title at 83.60. Germany's Sabrina Cakmakli was second at 79.80, New Zealand's Janina Kuzma third at 74.40, and Devin Logan of West Dover, Vermont, fourth at 72.60.
