OGDEN — It took a miracle shot for Bountiful to advance to a 4A quarterfinal matchup with Spanish Fork.

This time around, the Braves didn’t want anything to come down to the final seconds and a final shot.

The plan worked, as Bountiful advanced to the 4A semifinals with a 67-51 victory over the Dons Thursday at the Dee Events Center in Ogden.

Bountiful’s Zach Seljaas hit a go-ahead three to lift the Braves to a dramatic 58-56 victory over Murray Tuesday. Thursday in the quarterfinals, Seljaas scored 17 points and added five assists.

Bountiful’s Jake Lasalle led all scorers in the game, finishing with 20 points. The Braves’ Jeff Pollard also contributed 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Hunter Schofield, who finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds, led Spanish Fork.

The Braves play Orem in a semifinal game Friday at the Dee Events Center. The game is scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m. in Ogden.
