BOSTON — If you’ve been paying attention to the weather, you maybe have noticed extreme weather happening on both sides of the country.
Utah seems to be in an early spring with unseasonably warm temperatures, which doesn’t look good for our snowpack, and the East Coast is getting pummeled with snowstorm on top of snowstorm, with drifts blocking doors and burying cars.
The Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore was reporting on the most recent storm in Boston when he experienced a rare weather phenomenon. His face is covered in ice as he’s waiting, it appears, to go live somewhere on TV, when the event occurs.
A flash to his right and the unmistakable rumble of thunder during a snowstorm so delighted Cantore that he begins a celebration that rivals even the most enthusiastic endzone dancer or any 8-year-old who gets their first game console. Yelling, jumping and fist-pumping are staples to his celebration.
Cantore and his crew capture the phenomena six times on camera, and Cantore gets excited every time. In fact, I think this video surpasses the over-the-top excitement of double rainbow guy.
By his reaction, you’d think Cantore had never experienced thundersnow before, but you’d be wrong. He was reporting in Chicago in 2011 when he had a similar experience.
It’s always a treat (and sometimes hilarious) to see someone who is passionate about what they do. Thank you, Mr. Cantore.
