TOOELE- Miller Motorsports Park is pleased to announce that three Tooele County high school students - Ashton Hubbard and Madison Gibson from Tooele High School, and Marty Johnson from Stansbury High School - have been selected to receive college scholarship assistance for the 2014-2015 scholastic year.

The Miller Motorsports Park scholarship will cover tuition, fees and books for each of the selected students to utilize for undergraduate study at any college or university within the Utah System of Higher Education (University of Utah, Utah State University, Weber State University, Southern Utah University, Snow College, Dixie State College, Utah Valley University and Salt Lake Community College) or private non-profit Utah college or university (Brigham Young University, LDS Business College, Westminster College and Western Governors University).

"There are so many dedicated, inspiring young students in Tooele County and I am proud to recognize those who were selected for the Miller Motorsports Park scholarship," said Gail Miller, owner of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. "I truly hope this scholarship helps Ashton, Madison and Marty to attain their career aspirations and goals and provides them with the opportunity to be successful leaders and inspire others."

Ashton Hubbard, a senior at Tooele High School, will be attending Weber State University in Ogden, Utah and is planning to pursue an engineering degree with an emphasis in welding. While she acknowledges it is typically a male- driven field, welding is something she feels passionate about and is eager to pursue. Hubbard's preparing to participate in a welding competition through Skills USA, and also enjoys giving back to the community and participating with organizations including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Madison Gibson is also a senior at Tooele High School. She will be attending Dixie State University in St. George, Utah in the fall and hopes to obtain a degree in dental hygiene. She currently holds a dental hygiene certificate and recently participated in a 90-hour internship. Gibson enjoys playing sports and participating in service projects with other LDS Young Women at her church.

In his senior year at Stansbury High School, Marty Johnson plans to attend Utah State University (USU) in Logan, Utah and pursue a career in physical therapy. He's very involved in sports including football, wrestling and rugby, and hopes to play rugby for the USU club team. Johnson placed fifth in the state as a second year varsity wrestler, and he also assists with youth wrestling programs. Johnson plans to use his degree to help individuals and athletes recover from their injuries and maintain a positive attitude throughout the recovery process.

The Miller Motorsports Park scholarship program is open to Tooele County residents who are high school graduates, those with a certificate of high school equivalency or non-traditional students working towards an undergraduate degree Applicants who wish to apply for the 2015-2016 Miller Motorsports Park scholarship program are required to complete an application form obtainable from any Tooele County School District high school counselor or downloaded at www.MillerMotorsportsPark.com/scholarship after January 12, 2015. All applications and information must be postmarked by March 2, 2015 to be considered for the 2015-2016 academic fall semester.
