UTAH COUNTY — Two men were injured when a car left the road, went through a fence and rolled at least four times Sunday, investigators said.
The driver of a white Saturn was traveling at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve on Redwood Road, near where it turns into state Route 68 on the west side of Utah Lake, and lost control at around 5:33 p.m., according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The 22-year-old passenger was transported to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo by helicopter in critical condition, investigators said. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was ejected from the car, deputies said.
The 23-year-old driver was not ejected and was transported by ambulance to the Mountain View Hospital in Payson, investigators said.
The names of the two men have not yet been released.
The Utah Highway Patrol said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident, but the incident is still under investigation. More updates will be made as they become available.
