ARLINGTON, TX.- Weber State senior Davion Berry had a strong showing at the 2014 Reese's College All-Star game Friday at the Final Four. Berry led the West team in scoring and tied for a game-high in scoring at the game held in Arlington, Texas, site of the Final Four. The Reese's College All-Star game featured 21 of the top senior college basketball players in the country.
Berry, the 2014 Big Sky MVP, came off the bench and played 20 minutes in the game and led his team with 15 points. The Oakland, Calif., native was 4 of 10 from the field, and knocked down one 3-pointer. He also was 6 of 7 from the free throw line and shot the most free throws of any player in the game.
He also led the team in assists with four and had two rebounds and one steal for the West team, which was coached by Stanford head coach Johnny Dawkins. The East defeated the West 87-75 in the sixth annual College All-Star game.
Berry finished his two-year career by leading the Wildcats to a Big Sky title, Big Sky Tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. In addition to earning Big Sky MVP honors, Berry was also named to the Big Sky All-Conference First Team and earned All-District honors for the second straight season, and was named to the AP All-America honorable mention team.
He led the Wildcats in scoring 21 times during the season, including 17 of the last 19 games. He finished the season third in the Big Sky in scoring at 19.2 points per game and was second in scoring in Big Sky games at 20.2 per game. He scored in double figures in 29 of WSU's 310 games and scored 20 or more 19 times, including 24 against Arizona in the NCAA Tournament. He scored 596 points this season, the 12th most in a season in WSU history.
