4A Playoffs: Olympus wins big to advance in 4A play

SALT LAKE CITY — Olympus jumped out to a big lead early and didn't let up as they built a 12-point halftime lead and they will move on to play Bountiful Friday in the 4A boys basketball tournament.

The Olympus Titans controlled the game early on and never gave Highland hope as they kept a double-digit lead throughout the second half ending the game with a 65-50 win. Alec Moson led Olympus with 23 points and nine rebounds in 20 minutes of play.

After one quarter the Titans led the Rams 19-9 and pushed the lead to 34-22 with 15 point in the first half. The lead got to as many as 16. Spencer Williams added 13 for the Titans

Jake Connor had 12 in the first half and ended the game with 22 points for the senior from Highland.

Highland was coming off a game where they upset the top-seeded Timpview squad to get to the second-round of the 4A playoffs.

Olympus will play Bountiful Friday at 4:10 p.m.
