PROVO — BYU and Utah State announced on Wednesday that the two schools have reached an agreement to add two additional games to its current football series.

The additional games will be played on Sept. 29, 2017 in Logan and in Provo on Oct. 5, 2018 — both games are on Friday night.

In the official release, BYU AD Tom Holmoe expressed his gratitude to the Aggies and his excitement to continue the series.

"I appreciate the working relationship I have with Scott Barnes at Utah State. Scott has done an outstanding job at USU and is great to work with. We value the longstanding in-state rivalry with Utah State and look forward to these future games."

With the additional games, the two programs will now play at LaVell Edwards Stadium in 2014, 2016 and 2018 and at Romney Stadium in 2015 and 2017.

Like Tom Holmoe, Utah State Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Barnes is pleased with the new agreement.

"We are excited to continue our home and home series with BYU long-term," said Barnes. "This rivalry is important to both institutions and the state of Utah."

The Cougars have won 13 out of the last 14 matchups against the Aggies, including this year's 31-14 victory in Logan.
