For the first time this season, Kansas City's Alex Smith showed he can pass with some of the NFL’s best quarterbacks.

The Kansas City defense, however, couldn’t hold up Smith’s stellar performance in a 41-38 loss to the San Diego Chargers Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

Smith completed 26-of-38 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns with an interception in the set back.

Also, former University of Utah standout Sean Smith made three tackles in the game for the Chiefs, while former Ute Eric Weddle made six tackles and forced a fumble for San Diego.

Several additional Utah alumni faced off in Sunday showdowns.

A week after making five tackles in a come-from-behind win over the New England Patriots, Carolina Panther DT Star Lotulelei made a tackle against the Miami Dolphins, and WR Steve Smith also caught five passes for 69 yards in the 20-16 win.
