WEST VALLEY CITY - Maverik Modified racer, Mark Ith Jr. joined a host of oval racers who claimed first-time championships at Rocky Mountain Raceways' Utah State Championships on Saturday, October 4. The Utah State Championships included all 10 of Rocky Mountain Raceways' local classes, racing to determine the season-ending championships.
Rocky Mountain Raceways' Oval Racing Series 2014 Champions include: Mark Ith Jr. (Maverik Modifieds,) Tim Fahrner (Comcast Super Stocks,) Jimmy Waters (Winged Sprints,) Michael Daniels (Focus Midgets,) David Baity (Hornets,) Nathan Westmoreland (Jr. Stingers,) Kevin Neff (U Burm Em We Build Em Transmission Mini Cups,) Corey Walker (Figure-8 Cars,) Midlife Crisis (Double Deckers,) and Train Six Feet Under (Western States Equipment Figure-8 Trains.) In addition to Ith Jr., Daniels, Westmoreland, Neff, Walker, and Midlife Crisis are enjoying the satisfaction of first-time championships.
The Utah State Championships was a new event for Rocky Mountain Raceways that allowed fans to witness RMR Oval Racing champions being determined on one evening. With the last race of the season, came some very intense side-by-side racing.
Dillion Lawrence, a former Comcast Super Stock Champion, won his first Maverik Modified main event. Additional RMR Oval Racing Series winners included: Kyle Bergener (Winged Sprints,) Michael Daniels (Focus Midgets,) Kevin Truscott (Hornets,) Nathan Westmoreland (Jr. Stingers,) Kevin Neff (U Burn Em We Build Em Transmission Mini Cups,) Dave Fleishman (Figure-8 Cars,) All Powelled Up (Double Deckers,) and Train Six Feet Under (Western States Equipment Figure-8 Trains.)
