WEST VALLEY CITY - Kyle Bergener, from Taylorsville, Utah, claimed his first Winged Sprint main event win at Rocky Mountain Raceways on Saturday, August 2. Nicholas Pepe led the first 12 laps before exiting the track with engine issues. Bergener, who was running in second, led the remaining eight laps, finishing ahead of Mel Andrus in second and Monty Bergener in third.
Jim Ford secured his first Comcast Super Stock main event win. Ford started on the front row and led the majority of the 30-lap main. He briefly relinquished the lead to Tim Fahrner for one lap, but quickly regained the top spot. Fahrner came in second, just 0.187 behind Ford. Travis Walker finished in third, Al Jones finished in fourth, and Jeremy Eaton rounded out the top five.
Additional RMR winners included Michael Daniels (Ford Focus Midget,) Nathan Westmoreland (Jr. Stingers,) and #24 Jim-n- John Freaky Fast (Double Deckers.)
Racing will continue on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10 with the Maverik Clash of the Titans XVIII monster truck event. Racing will include side-by-side, figure-8 monster truck racing, with a wheelie contest on Saturday and a freestyle contest on Sunday. Comcast Super Stocks and ASA Pro Trucks will join Saturday's lineup. Sunday's racing lineup will include Maverik Modifieds and U Burn Em' We Build Em' Transmission Mini Cups. Fans can get up close with the monster trucks and drivers at the Pre-Race Pit Party on Saturday and Sunday from 4:00pm-4:45pm. Admission to the Pre-Race Pit Party is included with every spectator admission.
