WEST VALLEY CITY - Tim Fahrner, from Sandy, Utah, claimed the Comcast Super Stock Shootout victory and fast qualifying time at Rocky Mountain Raceways on Saturday, June 28. Fahrner, who started in seventh, secured an early lead, passing #44 Al Jones on lap 4 for the top spot. Fahrner checked out for the remainder of the 50-lap main event and left the rest of the field to battle for the remaining podium finishes. #60 Jeremy Eaton finished in second and Jones finished in third.
Additional RMR Oval Racing Series' winners included: #24 Jimmy Waters (Winged Sprints,) #8 Nathan Westmoreland (Jr. Stingers,) #16 Donny Sevey (Mini Cups,) and #43 Kevin Truscott (Hornets.)
Tonight's race marked Rocky Mountain Raceways' 18th anniversary. Fans celebrated with a food drive benefiting Utah Food Bank. "We are thrilled to celebrate 18 years of racing here in the community. It's hard to fathom that we have been doing this for that length of time. We pride ourselves on being a unique entertainment experience and I am very proud to use our event tonight for such a worthy cause. This evening, our patrons really came through in a big way to help those in need. I can't thank everyone enough," says Mike Eames, Rocky Mountain Raceways General Manager. Racing will continue on the America First Credit Union Super Oval on Saturday, July 5 with the Firecracker Frenzy featuring CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series Late Models, Maverik Modifieds, Figure-8 Cars, and Western States Equipment Figure-8 Trains. Fireworks will follow racing.
