OGDEN — The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving an Ogden police cruiser.
An Ogden police officer was responding to assist another officer about 4:40 p.m. when she drove into the intersection at 12th Street and Wall Avenue when she was struck by another driver, Ogden Police Lt. Will Cragun said.
The lights on the officer's police cruiser were activated, Cragun said. She came to a complete stop and waited for traffic to clear the intersection before driving through the red light, going north, when her car was struck by a westbound car.
Both cars were heavily damaged and the officer and a passenger in the westbound car sustained minor injuries, Cragun said. The driver of the car was not injured.
The intersection remained closed until about 6 p.m. UHP is investigating the crash.
