ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Supporters of former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley are launching a super PAC to raise money for his expected presidential campaign.

Organizers announced the Generation Forward PAC on Thursday, two days before a scheduled a news conference in Baltimore where O'Malley is set to announce his plans for 2016.

Super PACs can raise and spend unlimited donations to advocate for and against candidates.

O'Malley, who is 52, has been focusing on bringing new ideas to the national debate during appearances in early primary states, as he has been considering a run against 67-year-old Hillary Rodham Clinton, the front runner for the Democratic nomination.
