BOONVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a veteran's prosthetic eye has been stolen from his car in New York.

The Oneida County Sheriff's office says the eye was stolen Saturday in the village of Boonville in the central part of the state.

They say the eye was in a small black bag inside the car. The vehicle was parked in a supermarket plaza lot.

Police say the prosthetic eye is worth more than $2,000.

Sheriff's deputies are asking anyone with information to come forward.
